The credibility of the UHB Quality Mark rests on a network of partners — national regulators, religious authorities, academic institutions, trade bodies and peer certification bodies across Africa and beyond. Together they form Uganda’s halal ecosystem and open doors to halal markets worldwide.
A tripartite framework: certify, accredit, test
Witnessed by the Rt Hon. John Patrick Amama Mbabazi and overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNBS, three institutions formalised a halal ecosystem for Uganda — each with a clear, complementary mandate.
Uganda Halal Bureau
Carries out audits and issues the UHB Quality Mark.

Provides the religious accreditation backbone for the bureau’s work.

Independently verifies the halal assurance of products inspected by UHB.
