What we do
How we reach the public
Awareness is a continuous programme — broadcast media, community engagement and international exhibitions that together keep halal integrity in front of consumers, traders and producers nationwide.
01
#TulyeHalal with Salam TV
The bureau’s flagship national awareness campaign, delivered in partnership with Salam Television — a television show reaching an estimated 2.3 million daily viewers, building everyday understanding of what halal means and how to verify it.
02
Radio outreach
Two radio shows extend the conversation beyond television, taking halal awareness — and answers to listeners’ questions — into communities across the country in their own languages.
03
Mosque activations
Direct engagement with congregations through mosque activations, meeting consumers and traders where they are to explain the UHB Quality Mark and the assurance behind it.
04
Ramadhan community work
Seasonal community programmes during Ramadhan that pair halal awareness with outreach, reinforcing the link between faith, food integrity and consumer protection.
05
Exhibitions & trade fairs
Representing Uganda’s halal ecosystem on the international stage — including joint pavilions at MIHAS in Kuala Lumpur — to showcase certified Ugandan products and grow export awareness.
06
Producer education
Briefings and guidance that help businesses understand the certification process, prepare for audits and use the UHB Quality Mark correctly once certified.
